More Random Critters

As interminably lame-brained as dad can be he does recognize beauty when he sees it (he married mom, didn't he?) (you owe me, big guy).  Oh- on that note, this past Friday was mom and dad's first anniversary!
Anyway, He found this black and white spotted leopard moth hanging out on the sidewalk when he went to work the other day. Amazing artwork, isn't it?

Ahh, It's Good To Be Back

Well, here we are, back at square one, sort of.  Yes, we moved again.  Dad ended up going back to work where he was before we left Wilmington in December, and I have to say, it's good to be back.
Glad to be back, but these window sills kind of suck
We're familiar with our surroundings, things are a little different at work, and they'll be close to their favorite beach again.
We actually got an apartment that's only one floor up and across the breezeway from where we were before, which means open windows and fresh breezes for me!
Keeping any eye on the road
The ride up wasn't as bad as previous rides, so I guess that means I'm getting used to it.  Dad says this'll be the last time, though.  We'll see.  Now before you all go off on dad for letting me ride untethered and uncaged let me say this was my choice, and besides, dad doesn't want to hear it.  I don't know which is worse-  letting me ride unrestrained, or taking pictures of me while driving.  Sorry dad.
Traveling makes me tired
He used the top and bottom of my litter box as my traveling bed, and after the first couple of hours co-piloting I got tired, so after making sure dad wasn't going to doze I took myself a nice nap.

I Think It's Happening AGAIN

I think William was right.  It's that dreaded "M" word.  There are more boxes stacked around the apartment, dad took the bed apart last night, and mom's been in a cleaning frenzy.
I've lost my favorite hiding spots, too, dammit.  Can't you people just stay still for once?!  Don't you know how stressful this stuff is for an old guy like me?
I'm gonna go have breakfast, then take a nap.  Bye.

What Socks?

So this is what some adults do for entertainment.  Mom and dad don't go out much (they really need to), so when it comes to having fun they toy with Yours Truly.  As I think I've mentioned before mom has this thing for tossing things at me, and the other night dad gave her the brilliant idea of using me for dirty sock target practice.  He sat back in his chair with the torturous groan of a 100 year old man as mom donned a face mask and protective gear and oh-so-gingerly (she doesn't like touching dad's feet) tugged his stinky socks off, then tossed them, one by one at me as I bathed obsessively in front of them.
Apparently I was so into my hygienic routine that I didn't notice I was covered with toxic material, and by the time I realized what was going on they were laughing so hard mom all but pee'd herself and dad sounded like a walrus with a chronic smoker's cough.

Uh Oh

Something's going on, I can feel it.  Mom's emptying cupboards and drawers, boxes are piled around the apartment, and unfamiliar people are coming and going, handing mom money and taking things.  Lots of phone calls are being made and the stress level is rising.  I've seen this several times in recent months and I don't know if I like it.  Hmmm...

Playtime

Once in a blue moon I like to play.  Okay, maybe once every hundred years or so, to be more accurate.  This is about as close as you'll get to an "action" shot of me.  I have a shoelace fetish, and mom, especially, likes to swing her shoes around in front of me, dangling the laces.  I entertain mom and dad by swatting and batting at the laces.  For about three minutes.  And then I get annoyed and walk away.  The end.

More Great Views

Now that it's warm here (who am I kidding- I don't think we've had a cold day since moving here.  Hell, the pool's been open since the
first week of March!) we've been able to keep the windows open, to my delight.  I sit on the sill in the bedroom and watch the birds, the neighborhood cats that come and go, doing their business in our back yard, listen to the annoying dogs. We also have a smaller window sill in the kitchen, where dad found me staring out into the darkness fifteen minutes ago.  He crept up behind me and, because my attention was on something out in the parking lot, made me jump.  Such a cruel ass...

Sleep Kitty, Sleep

I like to sleep.  Plain and simple.  Statistics show that cats sleep anywhere from thirteen to twenty hours each day, and I can certain-
ly say I do my part to support those findings.  Out on the deck, as I've shown you before, is one of my newest places to snooze, and we
already know how much I love a good lap.  Mom says she can tell when I'm in a deep, deep sleep.  She says she can feel my full re-
laxed weight, as opposed to when I'm simply napping.  Dad says he judges the depth of my slumber by the size of my drool spot.  If I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be their laps, paws down.
The other day I was out on the deck, trying to snooze, and something below caught my attention.  We are on the second floor, and I can see right through the boards.  The downstairs neighbors have a dog, and they occasionally let it out on their deck.  What a great, safe view I have from up here!
